In preparation for his Mom's 75th Birthday,

Duke willingly posed for the following pictures,
which were to become part of her Birthday Surprise.
 Lounging on the couch in his favorite position,
sitting up poised for a photo to be taken
and cuddling with Julia on the floor, 
Duke waited patiently for each snap of the camera,
then he went about his regular routine
of checking for people near the house
and, especially looking for other canines passing by. 

*Duke passed away on February 19, 2010 at the age of 15.
Throughout his life Duke was loved, always had a youthful spirit,
and was the happiest and most content when with his Mom, Julia.
